About G&T with a Twist!

So what's all this then...

When our kids were small, we noticed things.  Our kids were sharp, real sharp.  Our youngest, at 3 months old, tried getting us to laugh and tried making a joke.  People didn't believe us, but we saw what we saw.  The boy did something silly and looked around to gauge reactions.

Now most normal people go, "Sure he did..."  Parents of gifted kids go, "oh thank GOD someone else has had this experience!"

Our two youngest were coded as 'Gifted and Talented' by EPSB after taking a CCAT-7 assessment.  Gifted and Talented (hence the G&T) is a crazy thing for parents and we can only describe it as 'motocross parenting'.  We white-knuckle it daily, make grievous mistakes and just try to do our very best.

The intent of this site is to share our experiences, point to some resources and connect with other gifted parents and kids.

Our Blog

We created this blog to share our experiences and adventures with other families who have kids who are identified as G&T and help people navigate an education system designed for and taught by neuro-typical people.

Our Hobbies

Our family loves to stay active and pursue our passions. Our kids are G&T and have a healthy dose of ADHD sprinkled in.  This means that if we want any peace at all in our household, we have to keep our kids moving and on the go.  We ski, toboggan, play hockey, skate, play baseball, soccer, volleyball, swim, build sandcastles, do a medieval marshal art, et al.

If you have gifted kids you know: they're happiest when their bodies are in motion and being physically exhausted allows their brains to slow down and they can relax.
